How often should I clean my gutters?
In the fall you should clean your gutters at least twice depending on your area of foliage and at least once in the spring to ensure proper drainage and extend the life of your roof.
How do I measure my roof?
It depends on the area you are measuring. For square or rectangle you multiply length time’s width ex: A 10×10 area would equal 100 square feet. For a triangle shape you will multiply length time’s width and divide that number by 2 ex: 10x10x3 would equal 150 square feet.
What is the best flat roof?
The best single ply flat roof now on the market is PVC, TPO, and EPDM. It contains reflective qualities, up to 90% that assist in lowering energy cost. It will also help to keep your house cooler in the summer.
How long can I expect my roof to last?
You have different options of shingle warranties. Shingle warranties start from 30 year to lifetime, with prorated programs. The length of the warranty depends on the weight of the asphalt shingle. The heavier the shingle the longer the warranty.
How do I know if I need a new roof?
There are a few reasons for needing a new roof. Do you have missing or blown off shingles? Are your shingles visibly deteriorating? Are your shingles curling or cupping? How long has your current roof been on and are you within your warranty? Are there multiple areas of leaking?
What kinds of questions should I ask a roofing contractor?
The best questions to ask a roofing contractor are: Do you have liability and workers comp insurance? What kind of experience does your crew have? How many years have you been in business? Do you provide referrals? Are you certified with any manufacturers?
What kind of styles do you offer?
We install all types of asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes. We also install simulated slate shingles and most types of single ply roofing.
Can I cover over my existing roof?
You may shingle over one existing layer. Utah building code states that you can have up to 2 layers of roofing. If you have more than one the roof must be torn off.
When is the best time to put on a new roof?
Roofing can be done all year long. We work all seasons. Typically it is best to install when temperatures are above freezing and when wind is at it’s lowest. Some days we push off snow and some days we can’t work due to in climate weather.
My roof leaks! Do I need to replace it completely?
If your roof leaks you don’t necessarily need a new roof. Sometimes roofs develop leaks years before the entire roof needs replacing. We can schedule an appointment to come out and assess the problem and make the proper repairs if needed.
